The Club was formed to provide recreational and leisure time activities for young people between the ages of 6 - 18 years, in particular the playing of association football, provided in the interests of social welfare to improve their conditions of life.

Athenlay Football provides an opportunity for children aged 6-18 to train and play association football locally @ The Homestall Playing, in a safe supportive environment. The club places an emphasis on having fun, developing skills and a sense of camaraderie built through team-work. The club also runs a program that last year enabled local children from financially disadvantaged backgrounds to receive over 2400 hours of free coaching.

Athenlay Football Club runs teams for both boys and girls from under 6s to under 18s. The club has well over 300 members and a core of dedicated volunteers. Playing for Athenlay is part of an healthy and active lifestyle which helps to promote team-work, fair play and a sense of belonging. Children are welcomed into the club irrespective of natural ability or social background.
