The mission of Auckland Youth and Community Centre (AYCC) is to provide the children and young people living on the Woodhouse Close Estate, Bishop Auckland, with opportunities to enhance their development and widen their horizons. It is our aim to enable this to happen through an increasingly diverse range of activities, interventions and learning experiences appropriate to their age and developmental needs.

Evidence shows that, across the Woodhouse Close estate, there is a lack of community facilities. Our centre will be of increasing benefit to the community as our programme of activities develops in response to local needs. These needs continue to be identified by our research and consultation. The groups we benefit most are children and young people, their families and the wider community. New users are welcome, and we are working hard to identify the types of activities they most want to see.
