Open to change, eager to experiment, respectful of the past, ambitious for the future. Projects include Digital Teesdale (rural superfast broadband), NeST (incubator for creative businesses), the new Witham (cultural, community and commercial hub), the Barnard Castle Guild (promoting independent retail) and the Heart of Teesdale investing in landscape improvements.

The Vision exists for the benefit of the community and all projects have come out of community consultation. The Vision secures capital investment that would otherwise not come to the town.

Projects already completed/underway: new Castle floodlights; additional car parking; new employment land through masterplan; 60 retail and high street businesses supported to invest in growth; jobs created; new Witham opens in September; wireless broadband network across Teesdale; NeST incubator supporting 40 creative businesses in last year; co-funding of Love Food, Rotters recycling, 60+ community landscape projects and redevelopment of park areas.
