Why the community needs usOur aim is to provide a place of safety for people together with support to overcome any issues and barriers they have so they can move forward with their lives and be as independent as possible.
Our impact on the communityBCHA as a whole support over 10,000 vulnerable people each year. In the Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole area we provide accommodation for up to 933 people each night. Our domestic violence refuges accommodate up to 70 families at any one time and our night shelter in Bournemouth supports on average 500 individual people per year. 62% of those we have supported in the last year have already moved their lives forward in a positive way including 75 people who have secured paid employment.
