Belford | Community Support & Development
Supporting and enabling Older People to remain in their own homes. The promotion of Health and Well-being. Improving choice and access to services and information. Addressing Social and Rural isolation. Providing support for carers. Encouraging community participation - a 'whole' community approach involving people of all ages and partnership working between organisations. Providing innovative solutions, promoting 'best practice' in service delivery.
Why the community needs usWith an increasingly elderly population of people aged 50+. Bell View has a crucial role to play in supporting the ever increasing needs of Older People and their families/carers, in what is a large rural area. We encourage Older People to remain active in the later stages of their life, ensuring that their voice is heard, whilst remaining independent, treated with the respect and dignity they deserve. At the same time continuing to be valued, as an important part of the local community.
Our impact on the communityA marked reduction in the rural and social isolation suffered by Older People. Increased access to services and information, delivered through our Community Transport Scheme and Information and Advice Project. An increased choice of services available locally, made possible by our ever increasing portfolio of services.
