In memory of our princess Bethany Polanco, aged 8, we aim to raise awareness of WIlms tumour and fund medical research into the biology and new treatments for relapsed WIlms. We also aim to support children and their families with cancer in Coventry and Warwickshire by providing a support group and bereavement service for child loss. We will also give every child diagnosed with cancer a special 'B's bravery bear pack' to help them through treatments and hospital stays.
Why the community needs usWe want our tragic loss of our princess Bethany to result in something postive for families affected by cancer. It is very important to us to make sure that families affected by wilms and other cancers in Coventry and Warwickshire have support services available and that families experiencing child loss have somewhere to turn as this is not currently available. Also that children have something to help them cope with treatments and make long hospital stays less distressing and unfamiliar.
Our impact on the communityBethany's wish has been set up by Angela and Alberto, Bethany's mummy and daddy and consists of a close network of family and friends who volunteer their services to make the charity a success.
