We believe that disabled children should have choices and the right to a fulfilling life. We aim to increase the choice of activities available locally to disabled children and young people, while reducing the isolation and frustration experienced by their families.
Why the community needs usWe offer a choice of leisure activities for disabled young people that includes; Youth Clubs, Buddy Club, Archway Club, Saturday Fun Club, half term, Easter and Summer holiday playschemes and residential weekends. For families we provide telephone support, monthly Information & Assessment sessions, newsletter, training courses, counselling and social activities. For pre-school disabled children we offer a specialist teaching and movement programme and an Early Support Keyworker service
Our impact on the communityWe widely support over 1,000 families with a disabled child in Bexley each year. Approximately 210 disabled children access our leisure services supported by our skilled staff and volunteers. Outcomes achieved by our services include; increased choice and knowledge of local support, increased opportunities to enjoy and achieve in new and supported activities, more opportunities to develop independent living skills, better family relationships due to support available and increased understanding
