To maintain, improve and advance the education of the public through the promotion and practise of brass band music.

Brighouse and Rastrick Band performs around 30 concerts per annum of which 2 concerts typically are outside the UK and the remainder in the UK. Approximately 60-65% of the concerts that we perform are in aid of charities and a considerable number of these are via organisations such as Lions or Rotary.B&R continuously assist in raising considerable funds for worthy causes throughout the UK. This gives pleasure to a large cross section of the community, plus helping to keep Calderdale on the map.

Brighouse and Rastrick Band continue to be in the top flight of Brass Bands worldwide, as they have been for many years. Their players continue to be the elite in the Brass movement. It is the ambition of most Brass players to be of the right quality to play with the band and Concert Promoters know they can rely on the Band to entertain the public,fill theatres and enable them to raise money for their worthy causes. The town of Brighouse is synonymous with the Band.
