Causeway Community Tennis Club is a relatively new Club formed in 2014. With the aim of making tennis in the Causeway Coast and Glens Council area, a sport everyone can enjoy. We are hoping to encourage children/young people and adults from all backgrounds to take part in tennis, and participate in sport. We are a community based Club, and aim to allow everyone the chance to enjoy tennis. Our ethos is to develop all children irrespective of ability, but most of all we hope to encourage fun!
Why the community needs usCauseway Community Tennis Club is set up across the Causeway Coast and Glens Council Area, in the North Coast of Northern Ireland. We aim to encourage participation in tennis from all backgrounds, with a particular emphasis on children, young people and adults from areas of disadvantage. Our aim is that we will attract people from all backgrounds - and bring our local community together and develop community relations.
Our impact on the communityCauseway Community Tennis Club, is hoping to go out into rural areas, and provide the opportunity for children and young people to participate in tennis, that previously may never of had the chance. We also run twice weekly tennis sessions from the local tennis courts, Andersons Park in Coleraine, and run tournaments for everyone. This will give children/ young people and adults the chance to compete even at local level - and may provide them the footing onto the next level of competition.
