CAVOS was established in 2000 and is an umbrella organisation, set up to provide help, support and advice to community and voluntary groups, agencies and organisations across the former 'Sedgefield Borough' area. CAVOS provides a wide range of support services to the Voluntary and Community Sector. CAVOS support is FREE as we are funded to provide these services. CAVOS is based in Spennymoor, but all of our services and support can be offered in the community.

CAVOS provides a range of services and support identified by community and voluntary organisations within the former Sedgefield Borough, to help them manage and develop their activities. The services and support will change to meet the needs identified at the time. CAVOS provides a wide range of services under 5 key themes: 1) Development support, 2) Funding & planning support, 3) Advice, information & resources, 4) Training, seminars & coaching and 5) Volunteer Centre

In the last financial year we have assisted VCS groups and organisations to access funding totalling over £695,191 (that we are aware of) and supported 297 groups. We have seen almost a 10% increase in volunteering enquiries and the same registered volunteers this last year. CAVOS have engaged with and supported 82 new organisations that have not had any previous support from CAVOS, this was in addition to supporting those groups which already access our service.
