We offer a number of specialised programmes of support to children and young people with Down's Syndrome. The majority of our services have a particular focus on communication. This is because children with Down's Syndrome have a specific Speech and Language disorder, so early intervention is crucial. We offer support through: "Talk Time" our weekly a Speech, Language and Communication group for children aged 6 months to 8 years old. "Talk About" our a youth group for young people with Down's Syndrome from 11-18. We offer an annual Sport and Speech Camp and Residential Camp. Our school support team support both primary and secondary schools to include pupils with Down's Syndrome effectively in school life and learning. We run an Education Conference for all teaching staff and professionals working with our children. We also offer family social events throughout the year which provide our families with the opportunity to come together, share experiences and build friendships.
Why the community needs us21 Plus aims to raise expectations for children and young people living with Down's Syndrome by increasing awareness, and promoting inclusion and equal opportunities. We are committed to empowering families as well as offering friendship and a sense of belonging.
