Home-Start Teesside is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families with at least one child under five years of age.We’re there for parents when they need us the most, because childhood can’t wait.
Why the community needs us Home-Start Teesside offers befriending support along with practical and emotional advice in the homes of families who are having difficulties managing parenting for a variety of different reasons.It may be that parents are experiencing:
Poor mental or physical health
Postnatal depression
Bereavement
Financial worries
Loneliness and isolation
Multiple births
First time parent
Have a child with additional needs
Home-Start Teesside covers Stockton, Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland. Our impact on the communityBefriending is offered at times of stress by trained volunteers who work towards increasing the confidence and independence of parents. The support we provide links families into there local community, building their resilience and helping to give children the best start in life.
