YMCA is a supportive community which exists to inspire and equip young people to achieve their potential. MK YMCA is an approved social housing provider and offers supported housing for vulnerable and homeless young people. We are the only inclusive emergency accommodation provider in MK for people aged 16-35. We also have 123 residential flats for young people aged 18-35 seeking long term accommodation. Why the community needs us
MK YMCA is the only emergency accommodation provider in Milton Keynes for people aged 16-35. We also recognise the need for young people to secure long term accommodation whilst developing the necessary life skills to achieve independence. We aim to tackle social exclusion through the provision of safe and secure accommodation as well as the delivery of learning, volunteering and social activity programmes. Our impact on the community
We house approximately 500 people a year through our emergency accommodation project. On average we have a 60% successful move on rate, assisting people to either move on in to private rented accommodation, council housing or supported housing providers. Our occupancy levels within our long term accommodation is at 95% on average.
We require volunteers to help us host a series of events throughout the year, including our annual Sleep Easy and the MK Marathon.
