Team Fundraisers

We run weekly groups in Wrexham, Rhyl & Llandudno Junction, where LGBT+ young people can access support, social opportunities & activities that raise awareness of LGBT+ history & culture, along with opportunities to develop skills and personal independence. We're there for young people across North Wales on a 1:1 basis when they need it most, helping them tackle homo/bi/transphobic bullying and supporting them to discover & celebrate their own identities.

Why they need our service

Viva has been supporting LGBT+ young people since 1997. For many of the people we work with, Viva is the only safe place they have; a haven where young people can express & explore their identities, build positive friendships with other LGBT+ young people and get support to challenge or escape homo/bi/transphobic bullying.

Plan and expected results

Viva exists to overcome the isolation and loneliness LGBT+ young people face. Every week over 30 young people come to our groups, where they're able to openly express themselves among like-minded peers. At Viva, strong networks are formed, which provide friendships, emotional support & a positive sense of identity. We provide 1:1 support for around 20 young people per month. "Your support gave me the confidence to tackle the homophobia I faced at school. I'm proud of who I am, thanks to Viva."
