ACE - Action in Caerau and Ely provides holistic support and vital services with and for the communities of Caerau and Ely in West Cardiff.

Our community development organisation sits right at the heart of one of Wales' most disadvantaged but underestimated communities. Local people are active throughout the organisation as staff, trustees, members, volunteers and participants. We use our knowledge of our community and our friendships with each other to identify and nurture forgotten skills and assets, using these to build a better future for ourselves, our families and our neighbours.

We run two community centres, help people in financial crisis, provide mental health support, train local people for employment, make art, celebrate our local heritage, provide affordable food, and much more! We also support a thriving network of community groups for all ages that promote mutual support and positive mental health.

Our impact on the community
"The pantry is so much more than food, it's about checking in on people, building relationships with them, having fun and most importantly, solidarity - we all struggle." - Sarah

“If I’m unsure about anything, money, bills, housing or the kids and school, I pop into the Dusty as I know they listen, don’t judge and that they can help me.” - Emma

"ACE supported me not just mentally but financially as well. I started off being supported and now I’m on the other side of things, helping others and volunteering my time." - Sheree

"It’s really reassuring to know that this place is here." - Mike
