The club is run by a democratically-elected voluntary management committee. All coaches(volunteers) are trained in coaching disability sports (NSPCC, Scuk and EDF), and focus on providing the optimum experience for children and young people with and without disabilities. The club has both British Gymnastics' "GymMark" & Sport England's "ClubMark" Accreditation.WE need funding to finish off the Facility and to help with purchase of a lift for our disabled members so the will be able to socialise
Why the community needs us-We Offer a safe, supervised, friendly environment where children and young people can gain confidence, engage in social activities, and make new contacts and friends. -Encourage parent and community involvement in the management and running of the club. -Create a cohesive network within the local community as a result of our work with schools, disability groups, and other social organisations. -Maintain our contacts with youth/special need groups to provide opportunities for young people.
Our impact on the communityThrough our work with the residents, the Sports Development Team aim to achieve the following outcomes: Increase participation in sport; Widen access to sport for many people who otherwise find it difficult due to a range of circumstances; Reduce antisocial behavior by providing evening and weekend activity: Improve health & well-being, both physical and mental, through regular participation; Offer new training and educational opportunities in sport.
We are always looking to expand the team so if you think you would like to become involved in coaching, judging or any other club-related role, then please speak to one of the senior coaches.
