Providing activities, education and development for the children and young people of Lenton
To play an important part in the social, physical, educational cultural and creative development of children and young people through creative, innovative and challenging activities and services
Why the community needs usOur Project addresses a variety of issues including obesity and health; drug-use and gangs; and exploring home and school issues through creative performance. In addition, we have 1-to-1 support and development sessions; a gym project for older young people not in education or employment; annual adventure weekends; a yearly recycling community event based around the re-use of student goods and a Bike Recover & Restore project. Each year over 200 young people use Activ8 Uth and its facilities.
Our impact on the communityYoung people increase in confidence, self-esteem and valuable life skills, such as problem solving, teamwork, marketing, budgeting, personal responsibility, community spirit, social capital, recruitment, supervision & support, evaluation & analysis, project management & development; they take part in challenging, stimulating, developmental, energetic and creative activities; they lead healthier lives and are able to cook healthier meals; and raise their ambitions beyond the confines of Lenton.
Part-time play & youth workers; energy, enthusiasm, no experience necessary just a passion for working with and helping children and young people achieve their potential and have fun along the way.
