The Adhar Project is a confidential mental health charity that empowers people to take control and manage their mental health using a holistic approach and delivering services in a culturally relevant and personalised way. We offer gender appropriate sensitive safe support services and aim to make those accessible for diverse and multi faith communities. Our mental health services support primarily Black Asian Minority Ethnic Communities (BAME).but not exclusively.
Why the community needs usWe offer Advocacy, Welfare Benefits information advise and guidance,Our Recovery project provides emotional and counselling support by trained and qualified Mental Health Practitioners, Our Employment Health and Well- Being projects supports people with mental health challenges to help them build self-esteem and confidence to get back into work and training, We offer 5 day a week 1-1 and group support activities to help integrate back into the community following hospital admissions.
Our impact on the communityOur services are primarily targeted at 18 to 80 years old but we also provided specialist counselling to children and young people from 14 to 18 years of age who are not able to get access to counselling through other specialist services. We supported over 200 members of the local communities without receiving any funding from government, local council and NHS so we survive on grants, donations and community support.
