At Advocacy Focus we provide Advocacy Services to the local community. We can help you to say what you need to say to the right people. We work with you to secure your rights, represent your interests and obtain services you need. Our purpose is to give you the skills to stand up, speak up and be heard. Our service is free, confidential and independent of local authority and Health and social care services.

If an individual feels like nobody is listening, we can help. We'll listen to them and help them get the right information and resources so they can make choices, help them understand their rights and stand up for them. We'll help them speak out so their voice is heard and use plain English, We'll take away the mystery and jargon so they understand what professionals are saying to them, whilst helping build their skills and confidence, so that ultimately, they can be their own advocate.

Paul is less anxious about attending meetings and is able to do this without the support of an Advocate.Paul remains positive and involved. Jean did not want to attend a Mental Health Tribunal alone. Her advocate now attends with her and she feels empowered. Michael lacked capacity to understand why he had to move to a new care home, now he has an advocate, his opinions, views and wishes are clearly communicated to care home staff and Health and Social Care professionals and he is much happier.
