Acorn FC Community Club is committed to providing high quality football and fitness coaching to young people. Our aim is to encourage young people to enjoy playing sport in a safe and friendly environment. We are also committed to equality, social inclusion, and focused on forging closer links with the community.
Why the community needs us
The community would enjoy and appreciate the responsibilities of freedom and choice that life has to offer, whilst developing and learning organisational skills and raising awareness of Health and Safety. We work in close partnership with NHS, schools, local authorities and voluntary sector agencies offering alternative activities to young people most likely to commit crime and anti-social behaviour. Carefully structured activities also help their personal, social,educational development.
Our impact on the community
The young people vote with their feet because they have nothing to do, nowhere to go, and they deem sports activities as an outlet or a way out, being part of a team. They contribute by attending and enjoying what's on offer. The young people are given choices to decide on activities and prepare roles of which they feel they enjoy and receive maximum benefits. This develops team building and their communication. The project provides a range of accessible facilities.
