Milton Keynes | Social Welfare
A local, independent charity in Milton Keynes helping older people to stay socially active, informed and independent in later life.
Our mission is to make a real and positive difference to the wellbeing and quality of life of older people and their families in Milton Keynes. We provide services and support that enable people to live independently in their own homes for as long as they wish and are able. We also work to reduce the loneliness and isolation that affects many older people, which can dramatically impact their health and happiness.
Why the community needs us
At this critical time where the cost of living is so high and uncertain, the need for us to support older and vulnerable people is vital.
Our proven track record in supplying essential services such as befriending, information and advice, meal delivery, day clubs and other subsidised services, are known to make a positive difference to people's lives.
A recent quote from a client:
"Before the befriending service came into my life, with limited outings available to me and the four walls of my attic flat beginning to close in, depression was hovering in the shadows. Therefore my grateful thanks go out to Age UK MK befriending service for finding me such a perfect friend."
Funds you raise will help us to continue to deliver these types of services, reduce loneliness and isolation, helping people to maintain independence in their own homes whilst improving their standard of living and having a positive impact on their wellbeing.
All money raised stays local to Milton Keynes. Thank you for your much needed support.
