Age UK North Staffordshire is the largest local charity working with and for older people in the region, offering a wide range of tailored, quality services and activities. Our purpose is to promote the wellbeing of all older people in North Staffordshire and to help make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience,through: -services and support -information and advice -campaigning, influencing and research -participation and engagement -partnership-working

Older people in North Staffordshire fare worse than the national average on indicators of social deprivation, and are therefore in particular need of support through the charity's services. Stoke-on-Trent is the 16th most deprived area in England, 8th worst for health deprivation, and 7th worst for educational deprivation. 50% of private sector housing falls below the "decent homes" standard. Some wards in Newcastle-u-Lyme and Staffs Moorlands also fall within the 20% most deprived.

The outcomes that we seek are that older people in North Staffordshire will: 1) live longer and healthier lives 2) learn and share skills and experience 3) live as independently as possible 4) Be part of supportive social networks 5) Have greater personal resources and be better informed about local issues 6) Feel valued and make a difference to their community 7) Feel and be safer at home, and in their community
