Age UK Plymouth (Plymouth Age Concern) is a local independent Charity which has operated for 75 years. The Charity's overall aim is to care for and work with older people and their carers in and around the City of Plymouth to improve their quality of life through the promotion of choice, opportunity and independence.The Charity provides a variety of services to more than 1,000 people over the age of 50 every week, including those who may be vulnerable or socially isolated.Why the community needs us
The Charity provides a diverse range of services to older people and their carers including: Free information and advice, home care and community support, sitting service, day care services, dementia services, carer support, social and creative day activities, lunch clubs, Free IT lessons & Chiropody. We also have a wide variety of volunteering opportunitiesOur impact on the community
Each year we provide Information, Advice & Support to thousands of older people in Plymouth - many receiving help to access benefit entitlements. Our Day care service provides social interaction and engagement for older people and our Home & Community Support service helps people remain independent in their homes for longer.
