To provide access and opportunities for participation in music activities, in disadvantaged areas of Belfast, especially for children & young people / To enhance & develop the skills & creative ability of participants / To encourage and build tolerance, trust, respect and understanding among cultural, traditional, ethnic and disabled communities / To contribute towards the development of the musical arts sector within Belfast
Why the community needs usOur project offers a creative programme of opportunities that encourages participation in the musical arts. This is significant, as there are no other community based music organisations, existing within Belfast, offering such a wide range of opportunity for engagement in traditional & contemporary music activities. Young people in disadvantaged areas have access to weekly music classes that are syllabus structured & offer accredited qualifications from grades 1 - 8.
Our impact on the communityApproximately 750 participants attend weekly music classes. On average, 100 participants achieve accredited qualifications, annually. In the region of 450 engage in performances, annually.
