Anglesey Food Bank delivers emergency food and early support to residents in crisis across every corner of Ynys Môn — nobody on this island should go without.
We aim to prevent or relieve poverty on Anglesey by providing emergency food supplies to individuals and families in need. Illness, family breakup, death, benefit delay or redundancy can leave people unable to feed themselves and their families. We do deliveries where clients are unable to attend a distribution centre. All our staff are volunteers.

Our impact on the community
Anglesey is a Welsh island of 77,000 people where employment rates look healthy on paper but hide an epidemic of in-work poverty, seasonal wages, and households one unexpected bill away from crisis. Three of the most deprived electoral wards in Wales are in Holyhead. In the rural communities beyond it, there are limited bus routes, a handful of supermarkets in three large villages, and local shops that charge a premium for some essentials a family could buy cheaply — if they could get there.
When crisis hits here — a redundancy, a benefit delay, a relationship breakdown, a diagnosis — there is nowhere to walk to for help. We are the emergency food organisation providing island-wide emergency food provision across 76 square miles. We deliver to the door because for 49% of the people we support, who live with a disability or long-term health condition, there is no alternative. For many of them, our driver's weekly knock is the most consistent human contact they have.
In 2025-26 we delivered 5,768 emergency food parcels to over 1,300 households across Anglesey — rising 7.5% year on year.
