Anglia Care Trust (ACT) is a charity dedicated to supporting vulnerable people within the community. Our services give people the stability, support and challenge which is often required in order to enable them to realise their full potential. Based in Suffolk, ACT is able to deliver support services across the East of England. Our priorities are helping people to keep a roof over their heads, helping people to feel safe and helping people to be heard. Why the community needs us
ACT has been operating throughout Suffolk since 1968. We work with over 1500 of the most vulnerable individuals each year. These individuals come from a wide range of personal backgrounds. Many have a range of issues, including: poverty, family breakdown, homelessness, offending and poor physical or mental health. Our mission is Supporting Communities - Improving Lives which we accomplish through three core themes: Advice, Guidance and Advocacy, Community Safety and Housing Support Services. Our impact on the community
ACT has a long history of delivering on the promises we make. In the previous 18 months our proudest achievements have been: 80% of adults we accommodated went on to live independently. An 87% reduction in anti-social behaviour for families we worked with. A 73 % increase in school attendance for children in troubled families that we have supported. For every £1 of money advice funding received we managed £10 of service user debt.
We have a huge range of roles for volunteers, from Appropriate Adults to Mentoring and providing advocacy for young people. Please see our website for more info!
