Annapurna Indian Dance's goal is to develop and celebrate diversity/cultural awareness through informative and accessible performances and workshops.
Why the community needs usAt Annapurna Indian Dance community interest lies at the heart of every project we deliver . By providing high quality, well researched Indian dance projects we intend to encourage cultural awareness and provide a glimpse into a mindset and background that will be unfamiliar to some within the wider community. Our events are open and enjoyable to all and help towards community cohesion. We celebrate the core commonwealth values-equality, respect , tolerance and understanding in all that we do.
Our impact on the communityDue to our focus on developing strong bonds with organisations (within both education and in the arts) and audiences, we are able to gain a clear understanding of the positive outcomes our events produce. Bringing together people from different backgrounds who would not normally have interacted is a common theme within our work. Recently we had great success working with West Yorkshire Police to help young people in the community gain confidence and develop positive attitudes in life .
Admin and basic office management skills required, with a background in fundraising preferable.
