Step Out Move On

We run weekly exercise classes and activities for people living with and beyond Cancer and Multiple Sclerosis. Exercise ranges from gentle/chair exercise to gym sessions, skittles, golf and table tennis. After each class everyone meets up to chat and some refreshments. There is always a qualified Exercise professional on hand to listen and give tips. We will be extending this to include a wider range of conditions and the aim to is provide the tools to help people deal with their conditions.

Why they need our service

More and more of us face a long term condition everyday. Not only do we need to accept our situation and gain the confidence to live with it, we need to do something about it to help alleviate the symptons and the isolation of living with it. Our Step Out Move On Project aim to give people the support and the tools to help them deal with their long term conditions.

Plan and expected results

15 people currently attend our weekly classes and we hope to increase this to 30 by end of the year. In the new year we want to open up the project to more long term conditions such as Strokes, Obesity, Diabetes and Heart conditions and envies a programme of over 60 people attending on a weekly basis.
