Arachne provides a range of free accessible services and activities to improve the quality of life of all women in the area and provide opportunities to celebrate and share the Greek/Greek Cypriot Community.
With the ultimate goal of improving and sustaining the quality of life and resilience of an ethnically diverse range of women and their families who are disadvantaged by physical/mental health problems, language barriers, difficulties accessing mainstream services or are 'hard-to-reach'. Our services include: • Welfare advice - we hold the Advice Quality Standard award AQS: benefit appeals (including representation at tribunals), social care advice, housing, debt advice (we report to the Financial Conduct Authority FCA), EU Settlement Scheme (we are registered members of the Office of the Immigration Service Commissioner OISC, domestic violence, interpreting/advocacy. • Health promotion – health information workshops and awareness days, advocacy, interpreting, outreach. • Training/education – ESOL, Computer Skills, Sewing, Employability skills, Walking for Fitness• Creative/cultural events and outings - creative and informative workshops including, nutrition/cookery classes, art, crafts.• Partnerships/networking - We work in partnership and liaise with a diverse range of statutory and non-statutory organisations.
