As You Are is a community based, inclusive, low-cost counselling charity helping adults across Sussex access affordable counselling and psychoeducational groups. We believe that mental health support should be accessible to all who wish to access it. Therefore, we are committed to keeping session fees as low as possible, offering a sliding scale of fees allowing clients to pay what they feel they can afford. It costs just £240 for someone to have 24 counselling sessions at AYA on the lowest session rate.

Counselling provides a space for people to explore what is going on in their lives, and to work through their experiences in a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental environment. We offer up to 24 consecutive weeks of counselling and aim to make ethical and appropriate counsellor allocations, doing our best to ensure our client's needs are met.

As You Are has been an integral part in supporting the people of our community since 2007, achieving charitable status in 2012. We have an amazing team of volunteer counsellors, supervisors and trustees that keep the charity going.

We are a non-statutory funded organisation so fundraising and client fees allow us to continue our mission. Financially, times are hard for many people at the moment, so we believe that it is more important than ever to continue to support those in need.
