The Settlement ensures there is a strong, confident, safe and cohesive local community, where people are able to work together to deal with the issues that affect their lives, can achieve their full potential, have the best opportunities and resources to reach their goals in education, employment and family life, and are financially secure.

We provide projects and services to around 10,000 people each year in a densely populated, inner city area of East Bristol, characterised by high-rise blocks and high levels of deprivation. Our services address the often complex needs of our service users, and encompass problematic drug and alcohol use, drug dealing, family support, community work, volunteering, youth work and play rangers. Our Trustees are local residents, and all projects have steering groups made up of service users.

IN THE WORDS OF OUR SERVICE USERS: This place has given me the confidence and strength to do things I never thought I'd be able to do. I have made loads of friends, which has reduced my sense of isolation. I can't afford a computer, but it's great to be able to come here to use email and the internet. The facilities are great, affordable, and within walking distance... and the staff are in a league of their own. Everyone has been welcoming - the staff are friendly and helpful.
