Girlguiding UK is the UK's largest voluntary organisation for girls and young women. It enables girls and young women to develop their potential and to make a difference to the world. Its aim is to help girls and young women develop emotionallly, mentally, physically and spiritually so that they can make a positive contribution to their community and the wider world.

Why the community needs us

We provide a safe meeting place for girls and young women and as they grow they help pass on the values and experiences they learn with us. We provide activities that they would not perhaps experience elsewhere, and help the girls appreciate the environment we live in. Also as a local organisation we support many local events e.g Remembrance Sunday, the Village Harvest Festival and Old Basing Carnival.

Our impact on the community

All our units meet weekly giving the girls a range of experiences from games and craft activites to science, music and anything else you can think of. We also arrange activites for the girls such as trips and visits, sleepovers and camping events as well as District events which are based around key dates in Girl Guiding history i.e. Thinking Days and National celebrations including the recent Girl Guiding Centenary.
