Changing behaviour to encourage people to 'Borrow don't Buy' and 'Mend it Don't End It'. Saving people money and improving the environment.
Share and Repair aims to change the behaviour of our community towards a more sustainable future through practical opportunities. We do this through: our High Street Shop in Bath which has over 700 items to borrow rather buy, learning and repairing at Repair sessions inteh shop or at one of our 10 Repair Cafes; Workshops for adults and in schools to reduce waste and consumption, and our HomeKIT Project which provides low income households with small preloved electical items. This will in turn reduce manufacturing, carbon emissions and the amount of waste into landfill. In doing so we promote the health and well-being of residents of the area and increase social interaction and inclusion by providing a community-led facility
Why the community needs us
We bring people together in a social setting and help people save money, space and the environment. We give people the opportunity to be a volunteer and use their skills to help others. It's rewarding and fun. We also help people who have difficulties in a variety of ways. Generally we mend over 70% of the items brought to us which we are very proud of, as we have no idea what people will bring.
Our impact on the community
99% satisfaction from our clients who have visited us. We mend over 70% of stuff. we have taught many how to use their sewing machines and how to maintain their bikes which encourages self-sufficiency.
Children are the future. Our workshops in schools encorage children to take these messages of sharing and repairing home
