About us
We are an independent not-for-profit company.
Since 2012 we have been giving the local community, artists, and local groups advice, support and a wealth of creative and cultural events and opportunities.
We are open to everyone, seven days a week.
In our three galleries local schoolchildren and students can showcase their work alongside that of professional artists, while our regular Open Shows celebrate Herne Bay’s artistic talent. We offer affordable studio spaces, and our community of artists deliver workshops where children and adults can take part in a wide range of activities including printing, felt making, life drawing, creative writing, costume making, calligraphy, animation and photography, and lots more.
We host festivals, poetry readings, film screenings and musical evenings, exhibitions and workshops.

Our impact on the community
Beach Creative is much, much more than a creative community hub.

We offer everyone a safe place to learn, socialise and fulfil their creative potential. As well as the wider community, we are home to some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in our neighbourhood, giving them an outlet and the chance to feel valued and supported. People with dementia, young adults with learning disabilities and women’s groups are just some of the people who make use of our space.
The sense of achievement, emotional and psychological wellbeing, and self-esteem they gain from Beach Creative’s programme transforms their lives. Our education projects and workshops bring people together and give them access to skills they didn’t know they had.
We support Kent’s creative industries by giving upcoming artists and makers an affordable start on their journey, and their more established peers a place to create, promote and sell their work. We already do so much – but we could do so much more.

We really need your support and donations to secure our future, expand what we offer and improve the lives of more people. Please help us right now.
