Supporting the residents of Bentilee, Bucknall & Berryhill, both old and youngOur Youthlink and Rainbows groups provide a place to meet with activities and support. Youthlink is open to those aged between 9 & 19 years. Rainbows is for adults with learning disabilities. Our hard working staff and volunteers support all our clubs in addition to our Charity Shop & Furniture Shed, re-selling donated items at an affordable and reasonable price. Unfortunately, our Lunch Club for older people is temporarily closed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Why the community needs usThis is a community which is disadvantaged by poor education, parenting skills, health, high unemployment, low incomes, frailty, immobility, isolation and an increasing lack of facilities. Our projects aim to help tackle anti-social behaviour, improve interaction, confidence, self-esteem, opportunities, quality of life and social wellbeing. We work in the community for the community.
Our impact on the community
Our Furniture Shed and Charity Shop continue to help those on low incomes with vital home appliances and furnishings. The Shed makes 100s of sales each year and our Charity Shop receives many visitors every day for smaller household items, clothing, toys, books etc.
Volunteers neededWe always welcome new volunteers. Our volunteers are part time, with varied individual skills. Our paid staff provide guidance and support helping volunteers with vital life skills and work experience, whilst helping those within the Community.
