Hosting support project

A project by Bristol Hospitality Network

We run support sessions for hosts, offer a grant to hosts who lose their single person discount and offer bus tickets for those BHN members who are hosted further than 2.5 miles from our centre. We also provide support to hosts throughout the year and fund the wonderful Laura to provide this support.

Why they need our service

We estimate there are over 100 destitute asylum seekers in Bristol and BHN is hosting 28 of them in our network of host households and our men's house. We need to expand our host households network but many people with spare rooms live far away and members need support to live a distance from services.

Plan and expected results

We will reduce the number of people seeking asylum and experiencing destitution if we increase the number of host households. Funding this work will ensure this happens!

Volunteers needed

BHN is always looking for volunteers to join a small, dedicated team supporting our men's house in Fishponds, cooking, teaching English, Maths or IT skills or running creative sessions at our Welcome Centre in Easton
