Across the country, carers provide support that is valued at £89bn a year. Emotional and practical help is vital to ensure that carers can maintain their own physical and mental well-being by reducing stress and depression. This will ensure that the person they care for can continue living at home while some carers' may be able to continue working. Young carers are provided with support to have fun and continue with their education whilst continuing to care for their love ones.

Carers are supported to have a life of their own alongside their caring role. Days out, book clubs, lunch groups, leisure courses and talking to someone about problems all provide opportunities for carers to have a break. Improved confidence, a reduction in isolation and better health and well-being contribute to carers' ability to continue to provide valuable unpaid care with a smile! Working with the whole family has resulted in some young carers experiencing their first family day out.
