We offer affordable cricket at all levels for everybody in the local community. This can be competitive or social, adult or junior, playing both indoors and outdoors. We try to develop everybody to be the best they want to be. Our volunteers are valued and encouraged to enhance their skills on funded courses to increase the enjoyment of all at the club.
Why the community needs us
The Blandford Cricket Club is a local community organisation, providing cricket pitches, training and playing, a clubhouse and bar facilities. The adults play on on Saturdays and Sundays. Youth training on Friday nights at the club attracts up to 60 children ranging from the Under 6s group up to the Under 15s and provides a bar and BBQ for families to enjoy. There are strong links to the local Primary Schools and we run All Stars on Sundays.
Our impact on the community
In 2021 we have two adult teams on Saturday, and one on Sunday. We have a women's team that trains on Wednesday evening.
We had about 60 children attending the Friday coaching sessions and are fielding U7/8s, 2 x U9s, U11s, U13s and U15 junior teams in the North Dorset leagues. This requires 20 + volunteers to provide the cricket experience.
