Helping visually impaired people living in the BCP area lead active and independent lives

Working with those whose sight loss is making everyday living a challenge, we have a Centre based in Moordown and work actively within the community. Services include Community Support, Emotional Support, Befriending, Assistive Technology training, Centre based Resource Centre, Social Activities, Walking Group, VI Archery and much more. We offer Sight Awareness training to any business, school, social group or family and can provide speakers for after dinner/club events.

Why the community needs us
We will work with anyone with sight loss in the BCP area. We see about 100 people each week at our Centre and actively work with about 50 people each week in the community.

Our impact on the community
Unfortunately, most sight loss conditions cannot be reversed. We try to help the visually impaired come to terms with their sight loss and realise they can still be active and independent, perhaps just in a different way.

Volunteers needed

Minibus Driver MUST HAVE D1 category on licence to drive minibus on Thursdays collecting and returning members from their home to our Centre.
