Supporting the community of Brent, London, for over 37 years, we provide free compassionate one-to-one confidential counselling for those grieving a loved one.
Please Donate Now
We need your help more than ever. All our highly-skilled counsellors generously volunteer their time but, due to funding cuts, we now urgently need to raise funds for essential costs - such as rent and professional supervision - so we can continue to offer our vital services throughout the festive season and into 2025.
Every contribution, no matter how small, helps us to provide critical emotional support. Please consider donating today to help us keep our services running. Thank you!
What we do
Brent Bereavement Services has been supporting the community for over 37 years, providing one-to-one emotional support for people in the community who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Through our compassionate and confidential counselling sessions, we help people navigate their overwhelming grief.
Our counselling is not a drop-in service; instead, we can provide 12 or more sessions with a dedicated volunteer counsellor. This continuity allows for a deeper therapeutic relationship, enabling people to explore their grief in a supportive environment.
Why we're needed
Grief can impact every aspect of life and, without the right help, it can lead to issues like sleep problems, strained relationships, substance abuse and suicidal thoughts. Our support allows people to process their emotions in a safe and understanding space. This not only strengthens families but also reduces the likelihood of harmful behaviours, helping people return to work, study and daily life with greater resilience and focus.
Our impact
Our impact on the community is far-reaching. We help reduce the need for prescribed medication, GP visits and social services interventions, while also fostering greater independence and social cohesion. With our support, individuals are better equipped to move forward, improving overall community well-being.
