We are a group of 30 women who live in the Calderdale area united in our love of netball. Most members have played netball since they were at school and continue to play for CNC through their teens, 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s. Members have different levels of ability and fitness. Originally set up in 1979, CNC has been run by volunteers for over 30 years. We currently have two teams who play at the highest level in West Yorkshire in the Super and Premier Leagues.
Why the community needs usWe offer women of all ages the opportunity to take part in a sport that will improve their health and wellbeing. With a wealth of UKCC Level 1 and 2 coaches in the club we are able to offer members the highest standard of training in the local areas. We also believe that netball is inclusive with the three teams designed to offer club members the opportunity to compete at their own personal level.
Our impact on the communityMembers of CNC gain a greater sense of wellbeing related to regular physical exercise and being part of a close knit team. Players are able to develop to their full potential due to the structured training being delivered. Club members are encouraged to also develop their umpiring and coaching skills, with four members being awarded UKCC Level 1 coaching qualifications in the last year.
