The Caldmore Community Garden is a charitable project located in the heart of Caldmore and is the only green space in a very built-up urban area.
We are open Monday to Saturday and provide the local community with a safe and welcoming space which includes a children’s play area, a tree house, growing plots and a wild area for community members, volunteers, and school groups.
We run many weekly activities including Women’s Tuesdays, Men’s Shed, Caldmore Tots, and family Garden Saturdays. Throughout the year we have a programme of special community events which regularly attract over 500 people including special themed open days, family events, performances, environmental events, music and cultural festivals. We ran a busy holiday play scheme during school holidays and welcome schools, nurseries and community groups to come and use the Garden for environmental education activities, picnics and storytelling events.
We aim to work across all communities and cultures and that actively builds bridges between organisations and communities, providing opportunities for people to meet in neutral, positive spaces and settings, allowing them to come together where they are strongest - around their cultures.
Our commitment to the environment is reflected in a plethora of activities for all ages, volunteering opportunities, training and education.
All our events and activities all free and we do our best to raise enought external funding to cover all costs for the benefit of the local community, but your help would be invaluable to co-fund and help expand our activities.
