The Cambridge Art Salon nurtures art and creative ideas created by the public, for the public. Our unique policy of inclusion reaches out to both marginalised groups and individuals in the arts and creative sectors with a passion for the arts and creativity.
Why the community needs usOur community whitecube gallery and studios are home to a range of contemporary art and creative work created by the public, community groups and artists across the local community and surrounding region working across a range of creative disciplines. The public at all stages of their creative practice are welcome to use the space to engage with the wider community to uplift, provoke dialogue or inspire.
Our impact on the communitySince moving on site in April 2011, we have given affordable studio space to over 30 artists working in craft, contemporary art, textiles, fashion - helping to springboard their careers or to explore creative ideas. We have showcased the work of nearly 50 artists, in around 20 different shows - inviting the community to engage with established artists wanting to try new directions in a relaxed environment or emerging artists exhibiting for the first time.
