CARAD promotes participation in Arts and Heritage activity for social and cultural benefit.
We are a volunteer led charity. We encourage individuals to develop and share existing skills and inspire them to learn new ones. We use creative projects to celebrate and represent the area's distinctive voices in Rhayader Community Museum. We work with with all ages and abilities to foster a sense of place, worth and confidence. We also work with local oganisations to create projects which enhance the social, economic and cultural life of our area.
Why the community needs usCARAD provides a venue for local groups to meet. We host live music and theatre events and have a gallery where local, national and international artists can bring their work to our community. We hold workshops to enable people to learn new skills for personal or professional development which changes lives for the better. We collect the stories of the area to enable our community to have a voice and a shared identity. We host the Tourist Information Point which supports local businesses.
Our impact on the community
We have a wide range of volunteering opportunities from organising to practical doing.
