Local charity Carers Bucks exists entirely to support and promote the wellbeing of family carers. We support carers of all ages and in different caring roles, including young carers, parents of children with a physical or learning disability, older carers, carers from the black and minority ethnic community and those looking after someone with mental health problems, including depression.

Why the community needs us

Each year in Buckinghamshire over 14,000 people become carers for the first time and this number is growing year on year. The 2011 census showed that the number of unpaid adult carers in Bucks has increased to 49, 514 from a total of 45,821 in 2001. Carers Bucks supports carers both practically and emotionally, to help them stay well and enjoy life.

Our impact on the community

Carers who have benefited from our support and advice have often commented on how much this has meant to them, both practically and emotionally. One said 'I have had support from you for 10 years - attended events, and been given bursaries. I am grateful for all your services' Another, a parent of a Young Carer said 'Thank you for all the help and support our daughter has gained from attending Young Carers' Youth Club and sib shop. The work you do is fantastic.'
