Carymoor is an environmental education and nature conservation charity. We aim to enrich people's lives by providing outstanding outdoor learning opportunities at our unique nature reserve. We want our visitors to be inspired to live more sustainably and to feel connected to the natural world.
Why the community needs usHelping people to live more sustainably is at the heart of Carymoor's work. Our education team works with students of all ages to deliver inspirational outdoor learning days to show how we can all reduce waste, save resources and enjoy the natural environment. Covering all educational stages our programme takes an innovative approach to bringing sustainability to life. Carymoor works with over 18,000 people a year and provides a variety of volunteering opportunities to the local community.
Our impact on the communityOur education team has visited every school in Somerset, providing awareness raising sessions, helping to set up recycling schemes and supporting schools to become Eco Schools. Over the past 23 years we have worked with many partners to turn 100 acres of bare clay-covered landfill into an innovative nature reserve. Carymoor works with a growing team of dedicated volunteers from all walks of life who help to develop our site, deliver education and fundraise.
