Centre 63 is in the final stages of completing our new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA).  This new sports facility will be named The Billy Waldron MUGA, in remembrance of our dear friend and colleague Billy Waldron, who was the heart of Centre 63 for over 30 years.

This Appeal is to raise funds to help with the costs of installation, maintenance, and equipment to enable us to offer an inclusive sports facility for our children and young people, community members and the public.

This new sports facility will be free to children and young people who access Centre 63 activities, and any paying groups will be charged considerably less than the venues they are currently using within borough.

Each year we expect over 1,500 children and young people and 1,000 community members to have access to a brand new MUGA, enabling them to participate in sport activities that can lead onto sport & coaching qualifications.

Knowsley has one of the highest obesity rates in the country and this facility will help people living within the borough to improve their physical, mental well-being to tackle this increasing problem within our communities.

Our strategy is to attract funding from organised groups (local football clubs, sport clubs) to help us sustain our MUGA for many years to come, so that is accessible to all under-represented groups.

We need also need our local community to help develop this project for the people of our Kirkby community and the wider borough of Knowsley, by taking part in our local fundraising events and raffles.
