To involve all voluntary members in all aspects of drama and theatre work. To encourage them to work and perform various productions, for theirs, and the pleasure of the community of Shildon and District too. To work as a team at all times enabling friendship and comradeship to improve. This improves their health and standard of living. The group has in operation a young people Protection Policy.
Why the community needs usWe enable local people, who may not be able to afford the prices of the larger, regional theatres, the chance to go to the theatre for a fraction of the price and still come away with a smile on their face. Recently, we have gained members who have various disabilities who want to be involved in a theatre group. They join in fully with all aspects; acting, singing, dancing and have undertaken backstage work too. They have the full support of the entire cast and crew.
Our impact on the communityCentre Stage; over the years, has had many members join us from the local community, some of which have chosen careers in theatre as a direct result of joining Centre Stage.
