The Cerne Valley Cricket Club was established at Simsay Field, Cerne Abbas, in 1984 to serve the community of the valley and surrounding area. Now 30 years on, and flourishing with 7 teams in Dorset adult and junior leagues, the club has identified the re-laying of the square as a very pressing need. Such investment in the club's ground is essential if it is to continue to provide a much needed and highly valued sporting facility, for all ages, genders, and backgrounds, in rural Dorset.
