The last few years have been particularly difficult for all of us in Calderdale.
We started 2020 with the devastating floods in early February and then near the end of March, we had Covid-19, the coronavirus pandemic, and the lockdowns that followed. And now we have a cost-of-living crisis!
Whilst Covid-19 hasn’t disappeared at the Community Foundation for Calderdale (CFFC) we are primarily focusing on supporting the most vulnerable in our communities. The cost-of-living crisis is impacting on prices generally but particularly rocketing energy costs, car fuel and food prices and this is pushing many families into poverty.
During the summer months heating may not be as big an issue for struggling families but during school holidays with free school meals unavailable, its vital vulnerable families receive nutritious meals and practical support so they can achieve a satisfactory quality of life.
Community Foundation for Calderdale and Calderdale Council are working together with partners to support struggling families who are forced to decide between ‘eating or heating’ and we are asking for your help to donate to the Never Hungry Again Campaign. A donation of any size would be welcomed.
As you have probably heard every UK household, regardless of circumstances, will each receive £400 from the Government to help cover the cost increases for both gas and electric. If you are position not to need the £400 you may wish to donate it to the Never Hungry Again Campaign. The gifted aided donation of £500 would make a world of difference to a local family in need.
You can give online via this web page, you can donate with a cheque made out to CFFC (‘Never Hungry Again’ on the reverse) posted to CFFC 1855 Building, Discovery Road, HALIFAX HX1 2NG, or you can give directly to CFFC’s bank account at:
